The Knott Library
St. Mary’s Seminary and University’s Marion Burk Knott Library is the largest theological library in Baltimore. The collection numbers more than 132,000 volumes. The library receives over 390 periodicals and maintains a collection of 20,000 volumes of bound periodicals. Other holdings include newspapers, microfilm, and audio-visual materials.
All registered students of St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute enjoy privileges at the Knott Library. Library cards may be obtained at the circulation desk after a student’s registration has been processed. There is a fee for certificate or degree candidates to apply for borrower’s privileges when they are not registered for a term. St. Mary’s has a mutual-borrowing agreement with the Loyola/Notre Dame Library. The Eisenhower Library at Johns Hopkins University or the Meyerhoff Library at Baltimore Hebrew University do not permit borrowing but allow use of materials on the premises. In addition, interlibrary loan services are available for a fee.
