The Disciple Priest: A Call Within the Call

In the New Testament Jesus’ call of the disciples is a call not primarily to a program but to an intimate relationship with him. Accordingly, our retreat will be a time to reflect on our discipleship priesthood as a call to such friendship with the Lord that is the foundation of our priestly ministry.

A priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn, Msgr. Thomas Caserta has served the Church as a pastor, retreat director, and director of spiritual formation at Brooklyn’s college seminary for over twenty years. He has also served as the Director of Priestly Life and Ministry for the Diocese of Brooklyn, as well as its Coordinator of the Courage International Apostolate.

The Retreat

Msgr. Caserta will lead a retreat that Includes:

  • reflections
  • prayers and liturgy
  • opportunities for confession
  • Adoration
  • shared meals, snacks, socials
  • quiet time.

St. Mary’s provides a unique environment for reflection in an historic location with prayerful spaces, areas for both solitude and fraternity surrounded by winding paths through park-like grounds.
